We couldn't do what we do without family and friend support.

The Young Poets spin hope and truth from words.

Dinner at Carmen's House

The The Young Poets  gathered for dinner at Carmen Rentas' house.  A special thanks goes to her mom for an amazing dinner. The Poets raised their glasses for a Toast to Gratitude, sharing strength and hope.

ECSU Poetry Slam at ECSU Student Center

On the left, poets Ben, Carmen, Reggie and Cindy pose with Milton Jackson, a member of the Spoken Word Group, Poetry to the People. Below, The Young Poets  took on college students with their own written word.  Cindy took second place and is now traveling with poet Milton Jackson to share her voice as part of the Spoken Word Group.

CABE Conference in Mystic, CT

Guest Speakers, Erin Gruwell and Maria Reyes

November 18, 2007

No one can bring a smile to WHS Freedom Writer Students better than Erin and Maria!

Erin signs each book, given as gifts to WHS students from participants of the conference.

Reserved seats, front and center...filet mignon, baked stuff shrimp...no wonder so many smiles!
